Chris Savage [1/2/0 - 12VP] vs. Valerie Melamid [3/0/0 - 13VP]
The winner of this match will be the first to reach 15VP and claim number one contendership if they so choose. Good luck.

There was victory. Then there was VICTORY.
She had never fought so hard in her life. Out of all of her matches, this was the one that mattered. This was the one that gave her new life, and the one that breathed it into her. Even now, a week and a half after, she was still shaking. Just watching the replays on YouTube made her quiver. Something in her stomach dropped down low, and she shivered. Each time she had to repress the urge to giggle like a little girl. Each time she failed—it was just so exciting. For the first time, she had actually been in an honest-to-god fight and won. None of this less-than-a-minute crap. This was an actual battle, and she had come out on top.
Yet…what was it that made her burn so? WHY was she so excited? It wasn't the pain. Pain hurt, a lot--a lot of people had objections to being in pain, and for good reason. It wasn't the fighting. Such an unbecoming method of recreation would normally be scoffed at. It wasn't the competition. She didn't really consider herself a competitive person; she didn't like conflict.
What was it about this...?
